Sam Hollenshead began his career as a photojournalist documenting construction workers at the World Trade Center after 9/11. This experience sparked a long-term interest in photographing the industrial subjects, the built environment and economic stories.
From 2003-04 he worked on tugboats out of New York City, moving oil products and industrial materials up and down the East Coast. This field experience gave him a deeper understanding of infrastructure, energy and the global supply chain.
In 2006 he joined Polaris Images and moved to Mumbai, India where he took photos for news publications that include The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Guardian.
After returning to New York City, he began photographing for corporate and institutional clients. Some of his clients have included NYU, Yale, MIT, Stanford, Blackstone, Revantage, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Clinton Global Initiative, UBS, Bank of America, Hallen Construction, Ground Media and DADA Goldberg PR.
